Description
Alghero is a splendid walled city from the 12th century with a strong Spanish influence. Green hills, sandy beaches and a quiet walled town with an inner harbour.
Moor:
  • two neighbouring town marinas, Aquatica and St Elmo Both are good for wintering though live aboard favour St Elmo.
  • on the town quay Porto di Alghero  for 5 nights free of charge; lie alongside on the southern quay as well as to the east. Don't take water or electricity OR lazy lines from the facility alongside or you'll be charged a lot..
  • The yard

Ashore: there are good restaurants, and a lovely old town with the usual maze of alleys and piazzas clustered around a central cathedral. Wine tasting at Stella & Mosca near Fertilia.
