Overall this is a very nice town, although touristy in the summer. The town quay cost us about 8 euros per night for a 15 meter monohull. Electricity and water available on the quay. Flush toilets on the quay with running water in the sinks. No soap, toilet paper, or paper towels, but the facilities were kept very clean. Helpful harbormaster with excellent English, although he can get very busy. The outside of the quay can be very rough, especially with the swell from the many ferries. The inside of the quay is better, but reserved for charter boats on the weekend. Saturday on the quay is chaotic with the charter boat turnover.
Very good supermarket right across from the street from the marina. Hellenic Coast Guard offices located in the same building as the supermarket, on the floor above. Many tavernas available. One self service laundry that we found, and we marked it on the map. Fish markets and butchers scattered around town.
I'm not sure why the original information described the anchorage as it did. We anchored over a week there and had no problem other than the typical charter boat antics. The bottom is very good holding.
