Description
Symi is a wonderful place and once you are safely anchored or moored it is great to stay for a few days.
Anchor: in 20 ft. over a mixture of sand and weeds in front of the restaurant to the SW. Can be gusty in here but it is usually better than the town harbour.
Moor: tie up for free on the south of the jetty, DO not use the north of the jetty as you may have to move because ships use for unloading of supplies and water (the man in the supermarket usually knows the schedule).
Ashore: take a bus to the town of Symi; cost Euro1.00 and runs every hour, and back from town on the hour.
Plenty of hiking around the island see http://www.foxysislandwalks.com/Symi-Greece.html and http://www.symivisitor.com/walks.htm for info.

Sand/mud bottom, anchor towards north west of bay in 12-13 meters. Catabatic winds come from east mountain area. Small passenger ferries run frequently, leave enough space around the two jetties. Quiet overnight, music minimal. Excursion Gulets fill the bay from 11.00 am until 5 pm, can be a little noisy and space occupying!

Market on shore, restaurants and bars a plenty.
