Grand Anse is an enormous and beautiful beach and the most famous in Grenada. Fringed by sea grapes, almond trees, and coconut palms, golden sand and gentle surf. The water goes from a clear turquoise in the shallows to deep cobalt blue.
Warning: several shoals in the bay, you are advised to proceed with caution
southwest of Ross Point;
Dathan Shoal, at the NW corner of the bay that is unmarked;
just south of the off Long Point (also called Quarantine Point), there is Long Point Shoal which is not marked.
Anchor: on either side of the bay, it is not permitted to anchor in the middle of the bay. Vessels anchoring off the Ross point area must switch on the anchor light after sunset.
