Dwejra Bay (Anchorage)

Average 5 stars from 1 user reviews (add a review)

Coordinates: 036° 2.810' N , 014° 11.454' E
Country: Malta

Description
An almost circular bay also known as Fungus Rock. Dwejra is one of the most spectacular dive sites in Malta, with deep water (60 meters) and many caves and arches.
Enter to the south of Fungus Rock. With the predominant NW winds there is a bit of swell but is more uncomfortable than dangerous. Avoid this anchorage in anything more than moderate NW-SW winds.
Anchor:  in 5-7 metres, sand patches with good holding, otherwise rocky bottom.

Amazing picturesque bay surrounded by sheer cliffs. We anchored in 9m near the center of the bay. Pilot book recommends to take lines ashore however we checked out the entire bay and found very few places suitable for shore lines.
