A colonial town set in a beautiful valley of banana plantations. The historic quarter is filled with beautiful old houses with carved wooden balconies.
- Casas de los Balcones, now a museum and gallery of traditional Canarian crafts and needlework, has beautiful interior balconies and plant-filled patio not to be missed.
- The Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Concepción, a 16th-century Baroque church with two remarkable bell towers.
- Hijuela del Botánico, a garden filled with more than 3,000 colorful tropical flowers and rare plants, set in lawns with decorative pools.
- Have lunch/dinner at Puerto de la Cruz known for its fishing that still bring in the daily catch to its restaurants. Visit the Cesar Manrique Jardin Beach among volcanic rocks.
